Remembering my great uncle Edwin, whose plane was shot down off Stavanger, Norway on this day in 1940. He was 19.

Edwin's older brother, Stanley, joined action in Europe 3 weeks after D-Day, as a Major in the 61st Reconnaissance Corps. 3 months later he was killed when his scout car hit a landmine near Arnhem. His younger son was 2 months old. @sebduggan/1133032173987090434
